In accordance with the Rules Concerning Client Identity Verification and Record Preservation, Etc. established by the Japan Federation of Bar Associations, we verify our client’s identities as follows:
Individuals
We verify an individual’s identity by obtaining a copy of a photo and identity document bearing a photograph and showing the individual’s name, address and date of birth (e.g. passport, residence card).
Companies
We verify a company’s identity by obtaining a copy of an official document showing the company’s name and the address of the head office (e.g. company register, certificate of incorporation). We also ask the company’s contact person to provide a business card or other document confirming their affiliation with the company.
